Gratitude to God
Firstly, I am deeply grateful to God for life, my family, and the blessings that have carried me through this year.
On Pressure
Pressure is a powerful word—and not always in a good way. When under pressure, it’s easy to find yourself doing the wrong things, even when you know better. Friends, family, and colleagues can sometimes unintentionally make you feel less capable, which can lead to self-doubt, lack of confidence, and, in extreme cases, depression.
One lesson I’ve learned is to recognise the signs of pressure, block negativity, and focus on finding peace with God. “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3). Despite the challenges, I’ve learned to show up even after a bad day. Resilience has been one of my greatest strengths this year.
On Consent
Consent is an area we often overlook in our daily interactions. Even small actions, like hugging a female colleague the wrong way, can be problematic. If you’re not close to someone, avoid overstepping boundaries. This goes both ways—sometimes we unintentionally give people the wrong impression, which can lead to uncomfortable situations.
For men, always be respectful to your female colleagues, no matter the circumstances. And ladies, extend the same respect to your male colleagues. Mutual respect fosters a healthy and professional environment.
Looking Ahead to 2025
I believe 2025 is the year to take bold steps. Follow your heart, trust God’s process, and stay committed to your goals. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
