If you live long enough, at some point, you’ll meet people who’ll make you seem unserious, unfocused, and sometimes borderline useless. This is why I believe it is important for everyone to learn who they are and where they come from so that in times of trouble our doubt, we can all connect back to our source, whatever or wherever it is.
Recently, I found myself praying more than I ever have in my entire life. It is strange that I had to wait till I was 35 to do this, but it grounds me, and I find it uplifting.
For me, God is king, and I find myself making decisions through His eyes. Every day, I put up a thought or line of prayer on my Instagram stories and it’s not to show off or anything of the sort, it is because I believe there are people out there that need some encouragement and can therefore relate to the prayers because they need it. It is something I’ll probably do until I leave this floating rock.
If you are not grounded in who you are, people can make you feel like you are not worthy of all they want, but one thing I always cling on to, if the fact that there are no perfect human beings. As 2face once said, “nobody holy pass” and the maxim “A fool at forty is a fool forever” has always irked me because it suggests there is a point in life where change cannot happen. Lies, my dears! Lies! It is very possible to change if you commit to it, but it starts within you. You can always change many things about your own life. The way you treat people most especially.
Don’t be the reason why people think little of themselves. I truly believe that God protects his own. I know it sounds churchy, but it is my reality.
Now back to the matter at hand. There are things we do in our lives that will propel us to the next level. Acknowledging people. Being mindful, being demure, being cutesy. Kill the thought that great things aren’t in store for you. It’s really where it begins. Trust the process, keep going. My life is a living proof. There are places I have entered that I never imagined. I always credit this to my source, my maker.
Whenever I have a private moment, these are some of the things I think about. Self-reflection is key. I think about my low moments, people I’ve wronged, a part of my human experience. I also think about how I can improve based on feedback and experiences. I put everything in prayer.
I keep rediscovering myself and it puts me in a happy place.
I am the one you love, Paulghenefegor.
