It is a great idea to dedicate one day to being thankful, but how do we spread that mindset to every other day of our life?
There are a million excuses we could make. We get it! We are always too busy, too stressed, and too tired. But having a grateful mindset at all times matters, especially when you feel like you don’t even have the mental space or time to practice the art of gratitude.
Gratitude is much more than a “thank you.” It’s a deep appreciation within yourself for the blessings you have been given in your life. Because so much of life is not a guarantee. When you begin to count your blessings, you might be surprised at how much you must be thankful for. This helps to build an abundance mindset.
When you call attention and recognise all the gifts you have been given—Food, clothing, shelter, family & friends, the chance to make a living doing what you love, you watch your cup get fuller. With this, you are not throwing any more gifts on the pile, but rather opening your eyes again to the things you already have or forgot about.
For the most part, when the world puts you down and your cup feels empty, all you need to do is remember your blessings, and it fills back up instantly. The mind is very powerful, it can create a way to reframe and shift our perspective.
When we are grateful to have someone’s presence in our lives, it shows. We show kindness to them, we pay more attention to them, we listen to them, and we want to help them in need. We follow through on our commitments. we want to show them that they can trust and believe in us. This not only deepens the bonds of existing relationships, but new people are drawn to this energy. This positive energy is contagious because everyone likes to feel appreciated.
There is so much to be grateful for, but it can be hard to remember with so much noise and distraction. Give your mind a minute to think clearly, so you can reconnect with the joys in life.
When adopting gratitude in your daily life, don’t forget the big picture! To truly appreciate your life by digging into the past and reflecting on the wonderful memories you have made so far. Seize the present by acknowledging good fortune when it comes your way.
