As a food lover, naturally many of my great memories involve food (LOL). I enjoy fine dining a lot. Some years back I decided to be giving myself princess treatment or nothing.
Living my life to the fullest/soft living is my mission on this planet because we only have this one life to live, and as a baby girl who is a sucker for fine dining and aesthetics. I’ve tried different restaurants but what interests me most in this Turkish restaurant under review is the environment that invokes the feeling of a cave and their mouth-watering Mediterranean dishes. The first of its kind in Lagos. I enjoyed eating at this restaurant because of its affordability, delicious food, and aesthetics.
Their main meal is composed of chicken, beef, rice, pasta, prawns, vegetables, fish etc.
For dessert, they served ice cream with a different kind of cake and my favourite was not missing on the plate( cheesecake).
The food is excellent so it’s well worth the price. I went with friends, so we ordered this amazing platter that consists of lamb chops, steak, skewers, sausages, chickens, wings, corn, a mix of prawns, baby squid and crispy fish served with anchovy aioli, charred, cucumbers and tomatoes with a selection of amazing side dishes like either Pilaf or Steamed Rice, Naan or Pita Bread, Couscous, Mash Potatoes or Steamed Vegetables.
The food was nicely prepared and spiced properly, I paired mine with a glass of red wine, my mouth went to heaven and my tummy was very happy with me. In summary: it was YUMMMYYYY!!!!!
Name of Restaurant: KAPADOCCIA
Location: 16 IDOWU TAYLOR, VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS STATE.
Experience (LOOK: I will rate the ambience 8 over 10, the décor is unique, but it is not a cosy space for me. FEEL: it was not a relaxing or romantic setting for me due to their choice of seaters, it’s just a different experience from the norm, it was more of the food and cave wall than the setting for me
Parking: not enough parking space, but one can never have enough packing space for Lagos outside people, lol/SERVICE: The waitress and waiters were polite, and the food came out in less than 15mins which was very impressive.)
Opening Hours: 11 am – 11 pm, I got to know this when I called in to make a reservation.
Menu: What type of food do they offer? Turkish dishes
Extra advantage: Is it kid-friendly? Yes, and due to its uniqueness, any kid will be excited to be in such a museum-like space.
Family-Friendly? I think so, I had a wonderful time with my friends.
Can you dine solo comfortably? Yes, I can comfortably dine alone here.
Is it a romantic atmosphere? It is just here and there for me, not my first choice for a romantic date setting, but it is something different in a good way. The first time I went there I witnessed a marriage proposal so I can say it has a romantic vibe for some people.
Verdict: Would you recommend this place? Yes, WHY? Because it is something different and the food is amazing.
Damage: Average cost to dine here? Between N15,000 – N20,000 for one person (food and drink).
What meal(s): Order the Caveman Surf & Turf Platter, it’s a mixture of all your favourites;(lamb chops, steak, skewers, sausages, chickens, wings, corn, a mix of prawns, baby squid and crispy fish served with anchovy aioli, charred, cucumbers and tomatoes. It also comes with a side of either Pilaf or Steamed Rice, Naan or Pita Bread, Couscous, Mash Potatoes or Steamed Vegetables and can serve up to 5 people.
Drink(s); Any drink is okay but stay far and far away from their bottles unless you planned on finishing your salary in one dinning, anyway, it is your money, so my brother/sister chop your money, after all, you worked for it. LOL.
