I visit my juju every morning before going to work, between 6 am and 7 am. It’s not surprising that I call it my morning Kickstarter because I am unsure what my entire day would look like without it. Dear HH People, my juju is burning 300 calories every morning.
My alarm goes off at 6 am every workday. I spring out of bed into a quick stretch, then drop down to do 50 quick push-ups.
Over the next one hour, I engage in an intense workout routine that includes additional 50 push-ups, 500 jumping jacks (yes you read that right) and a variety of other cardio stuff.
After 1 hour of sweating it out, I pop into the bathroom for a shower and leave home at about 7:30 am. Luckily for me, the drive to work is a short one so I’m usually in the office a few minutes before 8 am, bustling with energy!
No shade intended, but while some of my colleagues are turning to coffee to stay alert, I’m literally walking around with a spring in my feet like an energy god. There is no denying that my workout regimen increases my productivity level by supplying my body with the energy and mental alertness I need to go through the day.
As busy professionals, we experience different stressors daily, from environmental stress to physical stress, to mental stress, hence the need to develop a coping mechanism to destress and restore sanity to one’s mind. I am grateful to have found my juju in physical activity. It not only boosts my productivity level but also keeps my heart in good shape.
I am certain that I’ll be holding on to this juju for a long time, well maybe until it wears off-which I doubt.
Until then, I’ll be doing 500 jumping jacks and more, even when I have 75 candles on my cake!
