Imagine this. It’s Tuesday morning. And like the star performer that you are, you walk into the office super early, all pumped and ready to achieve your goals. Except for one little detail. The copy machine is broken and hanging awkwardly behind your desk. Or maybe it’s the window sill next to your table. In such an instance, what do you do? Whose job is it to fix the small everyday things that make Heirs Place such an amazing building to work from?
I know you’re thinking the Janitors, Facilities, or MCC. Well, the simple answer is that beyond people’s KPIs it is a joint responsibility. Everyone who experiences and benefits from the HH brand should take ownership and ensure the office environment is always top-notch.
In a nutshell, as the Chairman once said, “Building and protecting the brand by adhering to our standards is everyone’s job.”
Now, in case you are wondering how to add brand ownership to the ton of things you have to deal with, here are a few lifestyles changes you can incorporate to better the HH brand.
Look and Feel
Like they say, the devil is in the details. So, use your eyes and your ears. For instance, someone spilled some tea, misused the bathroom or left an item where it should not be. Call their attention to it, and if not them, the attention of support staff.
Act the part
Think about the beautiful architecture we have, the white and glassy layout, the cool modern ambience. It costs a ton of effort and money to maintain it. So, be proud. Act like your office is a small get-away, because, guess what? It is. When you see the building like a home away from home, it becomes easier to observe these little things that make it even more comfortable.
Spread the word
Because nothing spells brand ambassador more than telling someone what you know. So, if your colleague is acting out of brand, don’t hesitate to enlighten them. Say it kindly and respectfully but say it all the same.
If you have any other interesting ideas on how we can take ownership of the HH brand, don’t hesitate to share it.
I strongly believe the HH is a sensational brand and we need to promote the same culture in all entities in the Group. I am proud to be part of HH.
