Despite the current state of affairs in the country, United Capital took a moment to raise our hope and prayers for our nation.
Simbo Odunubi, Compliance Officer:
A Nigeria where integrity lies on every street and doorpost;
Where growth and innovation is the order of the day in place of corruption and violence;
A Nigeria that attracts foreign investors/investments because its institutions and systems work efficiently;
A Nigeria where children play safely in all corners without their parents worrying if they are being molested or have been kidnapped;
A Nigeria where tribe or religion is inconsequential in our relations with one another;
This is my hope and prayer for Nigeria. Nigeria will be great!
Charles Ajayi; Team Member, Risk Management:
My prayer for Nigeria is that God grant our leaders wisdom so that they may govern with justice and compassion for the benefit of every citizen of this country.
Damilola Asolo, Wealth Advisor:
I pray for a Nigeria where truth, integrity and transparency are the principles for which we live by;
I pray for a united Nigeria where there will be a considerable amount of understanding and co-operation amongst all tribes and finally end all unnecessary killings;
For a Nigeria where we can finally abolish the impression of corruption being synonymous to Nigeria and where we can optimally utilize all our God-given natural resources;
For a Nigeria where our currency holds weight;
For a respected Nigeria.
Akinola Ogunnubi, IT Officer:
I pray that Nigeria becomes the giant of Africa that it once was. And I hope the citizens harness the riches of the Nation by creating job opportunities and the government making sure it comes to a reality by ensuring a stable power supply. This is all I hope for.
Chukwuemeka Anazodo; Team Member, Finance:
As our country turns 57, it’s my prayer that Nigeria makes significant progress economically, it’s my prayer that we move beyond religious sycophancy and tribalism, I pray for peace in all the regions of the country and a permanent end to all forms of terrorism in the country. It is my wish that we have selfless leaders, less of myopic leaders and less of corruption at all levels, I wish for a country where we all look to leave good and lasting legacies behind. Happy Anniversary Nigeria!!!
From a patriotic Nigerian.
Ezekiel Alabi, Investment Banking Analyst
My hope for Nigeria is that she realizes the valuable endowments each Nigerian carries and how to effectively channel such to the progress of all and that collegiality and entrepreneurialism be the mainstay of Nigerian youths’ movement even as we gird up to take Nigeria to the next level in governance and economy.
Segun Aremu, Fund Compliance Officer:
My Hope for Nigeria is a Nigeria where we see ourselves as Nigerians first before we see ourselves as Yorubas, Igbos or Hausas.
Nigerians first before we are Christians or Muslims.
A Nigeria where our diversity becomes a strength rather than a weakness.
Where we see ourselves as stronger together.
A Nigeria where we are judged by the content of our character rather by our state of origins.
A Nigeria where we can harness and maximize our rich cultural heritage,
A Nigeria where we can harness and maximize our resourceful, strong and resilient men and women.
A Nigeria where we can harness and maximize our creative and undaunted nature, our joyful spirit and energetic spirit.
A Nigeria where we can come up to our full potential and Grace.
A Nigeria where we can lead the African continent to greater heights.
A Nigeria where we are recognized as a world power.
A Nigeria where you are not harassed and dehumanized at the Airport because you are carrying a green passport.
A Nigeria where human sanctity and Education is valued.
A Nigeria where service is prioritized above being served.
A Nigeria where our human dignity is enhanced and self-worth is advanced.
A Nigeria that will restore the esteem of the African race.
My Hope for Nigeria is a Nigeria where we are Nigerians first before we are anything else. A Nation rather than a country.
I Pray for Nigeria the purpose of God for this Nation will be Fulfilled.
We will be a country where people can fulfil their potential to their maximum capacity
We will be a nation of unselfish and corrupt people.
We will be a nation free of nepotism, avarice, hatred, crime, wickedness and evil.
We will be a nation where honesty, probity, accountability, honesty, merit and grace prevails
I remain an impervious optimist of what this potential nation can still become under God.
God Bless Nigeria!
