We caught up with the Tony Elumelu Foundation Chief Operations Officer, Owen Omogiafo, to share with us her fabulous Easter holidays, how she spent her vacation with family, and what she loved about her choice Easter Vacation spot.
Where was your Easter Vacation spot?
Casa del Papa, Ouidah, Benin Republic
How did you learn about the place and what convinced you take the family on a road trip?
I learnt about it from Nonso Okpala. We decided to have a road trip so the kids can learn about Nigeria and Africa.
What did you like most about the place?
Gosh! The serenity. It’s so pure and peaceful. You and nature. Simply divine.
What did you not like about the place?
The food! Quite horrible. I would also have liked more free activities. There was no internet in the room too which wasn’t great.
What activity did you enjoy the most?
Lounging by the ocean.
3 surprising things you did not prepare for?
The stress at the border! The food and the price of the food. The resort was quite cheap so we didn’t expect the food and drinks to be expensive.
On a scale of 0 – 10 (10 being the best), rate the food, people and ambiance.
Food – 4, People – 7; ambience – 11 out of 10!
Would you recommend it? Why?
Yes, I would recommend it though I will like to check out Epe resort. It’s a good relaxation spot, to get away from the hustle and bustle.
