While banks across Nigeria are cutting short their expenses and laying off staff, United Bank for Africa (UBA) continues to set the benchmark and has taken the bold move to promote 3,000 staff (lions and lionesses) across the group.
The GMD, UBA, Kennedy Uzoka, shared an email that read: “I am pleased to announce the promotion of over 3000 Lions and Lionesses across the Group (representing 25% of our entire workforce) in recognition of their remarkable contributions to our business growth.”
In addition, UBA has announced an extension of their Car Loan benefit for staff such that the minimum level to receive car loans, which used to be AM & DM grades, has now been stretched to accommodate lower grades – SET & AO2. Plus, the bank has announced an increase in the actual loan limit from 100% to 120% of annual basic pay to enable more choices.
It gets better!
The UBA team has reworked their workforce model to ensure that every staff, regardless of level, can now aspire to the pinnacle of the Bank’s leadership, provided the staff meets the required performance standards, competencies and attributes.
Talk about bold and inspirational!
