In this chat, Goje caught up with Helen Iwuchukwu, Company Secretary at Transcorp Hotels Plc, to learn about life, love and everything in between.
- What inspires you?
Nature, water, serenity, optimism, adventure.
- How do you unwind?
Yoga, aerobics, dancing with my children, jazz, wine, chillaxing with my good old ‘reliables’ in a homely setting and going on adventures to discover different cultures, places, lifestyles and people.
- Best book read?
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus (John Gray), Outliers (Malcolm Gladwell).
- Best film watched?
Not really a big fan of movies, when i go to the movies, i watch comedy. i prefer watching true stories on crime investigation, biographies and history on Discovery Channel till dawn.
- 5.Favorite football club or any other sport that strikes your fancy?
If I were a football fan, I’ll support Chelsea however, I enjoy watching Athletics.
- Most Embarrassing moment ever experienced
Oh dear!!! It was my first court appearance at Lagos High Court soon after enrollment. My case was listed as no. 1, feeling quite prepared, I announced myself, moved my motion and just when I thought I was done, the Judge said no one heard my “small” voice and I should start again.
All the senior lawyers burst out laughing at the new wig. Afterwards, I learned to shout when addressing a Judge.
- Happiest moment ever experienced
Carrying my first born in my arms for the first time. Nothing quite compares with the feeling.
- What is family to you?
Everything.
- Turn on’s?
Intelligence (native, emotional and academic), genuine (real) people, grey hair, real things, strong character, integrity, truth (honesty and humility).
- Turn off’s?
Anything fake (hair, nails, people, things, lies, pretense) which probably explains why I don’t enjoy movies much. It’s got to be true or comedy to get me excited.
