So walking through the streets of Stone-town felt like a page right of a Hollywood drama – you know, like a David Fincher scene where the protagonist is on a journey to find himself.
The white vintage buildings bore the elegance of graceful aging…they were built in 1800’s. I am a lover of history so this was my wonderland. The house of wonders facing the famous garden, right in front of the sea was the pinnacle of the experience for me.
Built in 1864, it’s a magnificence to behold even today. One is held spellbound by the pillars that hold up the building the giant doors and huge white walls. The house bore many sights to behold especially the huge ship that is right in the middle of the house. The canons right in front of the house speak of a time of conquest and power. You see that and the sails are knocked off you.
Zanzibar was just breathtaking! A place where the sky and sea meet with wonders in-between.
