Admit it.
As a child, you were one of those children whose mums would say, “Now I brought you in this world and I can take you out of it” or “I did not kill my mother so you can’t kill me”, followed by a round of spanking or an earful of rebuke.
Now you’re a parent and you’ve got offsprings of your own who are probably outdoing your feats. Sometimes they are so headstrong that you want to sit somewhere and cry or hand in your resignation or simply do Ctrl + Z to return to the days of your youth when you were single and hand no adultly responsibilities.
We know how it feels. So we’ve compiled a list of ten situations when you felt like that or when you wanted to beat them so much they’d go early to heaven to meet their maker.
- When your child collects food from a stranger…for the umpteenth time…
- When they fail to catch your eye…and collect a gift from that relative or family friend you suspect is a certified witch or wizard.
- When you say, “Don’t do this…” and they proceed to do exactly the same thing.
- When you ask them to cook rice with small salt but they proceed to boil salt and garnish with a little rice
- When they call you by your first name, because they saw a child do that on TV
- When they go and report you to your spouse because you barred them from doing something
- When you beat them and they want to bring down your roof with their yelling so they whole world can know they have loud voice.
- When they bring in their scorecard at the end of the term and you see they came 59th position in a class of 60 students
- When your child tells you he doesn’t believe in your God
- When they open your gallon of fuel or spill it.
