It was a pleasant surprise when I got a call from the Transcorp Hilton early in January to request for my details and that of my fiancée to enable them make the flights and hotel reservation, after winning the prize at the Christmas party.
At the end, I and my fiancée had a nice experience on our all-expense paid weekend trip to Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
The journey to the Federal Capital territory began on January 29th on board Arik Air (W3) 724 11am flight amidst turbulence. We arrived at the Hilton to a warm welcome right from the security men at the entrance gate, concierge men to the receptionist. We were attended to speedily and taken to our room. The facilities in the room are a true reflection of what is displayed on the Transcorp website.
I was surprised when we were told to place order for whatever meal we desired from the menu book. It was so nice getting out of bed to order for meal and get room delivery by a service staff with a lovely smile on their faces (male/female). All our needs were taken care of by service staff.
I had enough time to get to town to visit family and friends and also had friends visit me at the hotel. I also went to the bar in the evening to listen to cool live band music, pool site, and also walked round the hotel to view the various facilities.
It was a lovely experience and I wish it lasted for a week. But every good thing that has a beginning also has an end. Lo and behold we had to return back to Lagos on Sunday on board an Arik Air 3pm flight so I could get back in time for work the following morning. I hope to win the next edition in 2016.
My special thanks go to the management of HH and the organisers of the HH Christmas party for giving me the opportunity to experience a good stay at the Transcorp Hilton. Also I want to thank Tobiloba Terna-Uvah and Ijeoma Ukwuoma of Transcorp Hotels; they made the entire journey a pleasant one for us.
