The Group CEO of United Capital Plc, Oluwatoyin Sanni has been named for the second time as one of the top 25 CEOs of publicly quoted companies in Nigeria.
The Award was instituted in 2014 to recognise industry leaders and create global awareness to both local and international opportunities in Nigeria.
In 2014, she also received the Award along with two other CEOs in the Heirs Holdings Group (Obinna Ufudo, former CEO, Transnational Corporation and Peter Ashade, CEO, Africa Prudential Registers) for their exceptional leadership of their respective organisations.
This year’s selections were based on the 2015 performance of the organisations led by the 25 CEOs; specifically share price appreciation and sustainability growth in each company’s Profit After Tax. The 25 companies identified added as much as N300 billion to the value of market capitalisation in 2015, despite the unexpected changes in the Nigerian economy. The unfavourable climate in the Nigerian capital market was attributed to the sudden exit of foreign investors and the difficulty in obtaining foreign exchange from the Central Bank of Nigeria, which significantly stalled our economy.
This year, United Capital Plc celebrated International Women’s Day by honouring its own women and accepting the pledge for parity.
The organization prides itself in having a dedicated team of hardworking women who continuously set the standards, challenging all stereotypes of women in the workforce.
