NIPR Honors Transcorp Hilton Abuja PR Manager
The Public Relations Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Shola Adeyemo has been honoured with an Outstanding Performance Award by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Capital Chapter. The award came in recognition of his service and contributions to the development of public relations practice in Nigeria and the hospitality industry in particular. The award was presented to him at the 26th Annual General Meeting/Conference of NIPR Capital Chapter which was held in October. In a citation for the award, the NIPR stated that Mr. Adeyemo was being recognised for his outstanding personal attributed which he has harnessed over the years to lead a robust Public Relations Department in Transcorp Hilton Abuja., in addition to his consistent display of passion for the Public relations profession. The Institute also highlighted his exemplary leadership skills, and role as a seasoned administrator and an accomplished public relations practitioner as deserving of recognition. Presenting the award to him at a well-attended gala dinner to Mr. Shola Adeyemo, the National Vice President of NIPR thanked him for his high level of professionalism and continuous commitment to the growth of corporate communications in Nigeria. Receiving the award, Mr. Shola Adeyemo, thanked the NIPR for the recognition and honour and pledged his commitment to promoting excellence in corporate communications in Nigeria.

Teragro CEO Dupe K. Olusola Moderates at Leading Women in Business Conference
On November 16, Dupe K. Olusola – CEO of Transcorp agribusiness subsidiary Teragro – moderated a panel during the 14th annual Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference.
On a panel called Fear to Fierce, Olusola lead a discussion between Funke Bucknor-Obruthe – Founder of Zapphaire Events and Lara Banjoko, MD/CEO of Zone 4 Energy Ltd . BPE commends Transcorp Power for boosting power generation
Lagos, Nigeria – November 4, 2015 Transcorp’s power subsidiary has taken the lead among Nigerian Generating Companies (GENCOs) in detailing the key issues affecting the ability of most to operate at peak levels and increase available capacity.
Following their increased advocacy on behalf of the industry, the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) commended Transcorp Power, for boosting power generation in two years.
BPE’s Director of Legal Services, Joseph Ojomu, gave the commendation on Wednesday when he led a team on post-privatisation monitoring visit to the company.
Ojomu said the company was on course by boosting power generation in two years from 167 to 634 megawatts to grow the economy. He said the BPE’s visit was aimed at monitoring activities of the company to see if it adhered to terms of the contractual agreement.
He said: “We need to ensure that they implement what is in the transaction documents and to see if there are problems so that we can proffer solutions.
“Power generation is important and we felt that we should support the current administration’s drive so that there will be enough power generation to propel the economy.”
In his remarks, Adeoye Fadeyibi, the Managing Director of the company, described the BPE’s visit as a booster and would enhance performance.
Fadeyibi, represented by Francis Agoha, the company’s Technical Operations Manager, said such monitoring visit would help investors to do the right thing.

Transcorp Hotels Plc Launches and Prices Two N10billion Bond Issues to Investors
Lagos, Nigeria – October 26, 2015 – Transcorp Hotels Plc announced a successful naira bond market transaction, issuing a total of N10 billion. The proceeds of the issue will be used to finance the upgrade of the company’s flagship Hotel, Transcorp Hilton Abuja, and construction of a multipurpose banquet centre.
The transaction is a 7 year fixed-rate bond due in 2022 under a N30 billion medium term bond programme. The subscription consists of N10 Billion in Series 1 in a Senior 7-Year 16.00% Fixed Rate (Unsecured) Bonds Due 2022 . The Series 1 Bonds are fully underwritten by FSDH Merchant Bank Limited and United Capital Plc.
The new Bonds will carry a gross coupon of 16.00% per annum (amortised) for a period of seven years. The redemption on maturity, expected to be 2022, will be at 100% of the nominal amount of the Bonds.
Teragro CEO Dupe K. Olusola Speaks at the 4th Annual EU-Nigeria Business Forum
On November 5th, Teragro CEO Dupe K. Olusola was part of a panel of discussants at the 4th annual EU-Nigeria Business Forum at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
Olusola’s panel examined the obstacles to development of the agribusiness sector related to standardization and meeting the regulatory requirements for local, regional and international markets. Opportunities in packaging and local distribution were also discussed.
“Transforming agriculture is about more than just food. It is about addressing key issues such as poverty eradication, youth and women empowerment, contributing to rural development, and creating employment & foreign revenue for our county,” Olusola said. “So it is important that developing and transforming our agriculture and agribusiness is prioritized by policymakers.”
The event was attended by Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, EU Ambassador to Nigeria Michel Arrion and more.
