In commemoration of World Environment Day 2023, Heirs Holdings held a tree planting ceremony at Heirs Place – the Heirs Holdings Group Corporate Headquarters, where Non-Executive Director, Dr. Awele V. Elumelu, O.F.R., led the symbolic act of planting the ‘HH Tree’, a reminder that trees play an essential role in mitigating the impact of climate change.
The Group Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R., in his capacity as the Chairman of Transcorp Group at a similar event, participated in a tree planting ceremony hosted by Transcorp Hotels Plc, where he personally planted a tree on the premises of the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
Mr. Elumelu thanked all parties involved for continuing to support the sustainability agenda and emphasised the significance of the Group’s efforts to leave a legacy for future generations. “As a forward-thinking group, we believe in exploring innovative ways to reduce energy consumption, minimise waste, and support local communities. We are creating a sustainable future by positively impacting our communities, our environment, and our planet.”
In line with the focus of this year’s World Environment Day, “Solutions to Plastic Pollution”, Heirs Holdings launched a waste management software that allows the company to measure, track, and analyse metrics from its waste generation, disposal, and plastic recycling.
