The Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu, CON was received by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa alongside other National Order of Productivity Merit Awardees.
Addressing the awardees, the president said that the National Productivity of Merit awards is the highest order of merit conferred by the Federal Government of Nigeria on its Citizens. He further urged that all should emulate the awardees as role models for their immense contribution to the development of Nigeria.
During his address, the Honourable Minister of Labour and employment, Chris Ngige recognised the special category on Job Creation which foremost investor and philanthropist, Mr Elumelu; Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and industrialist Oba Otudeko belonged to saying “the special category award was created to reward those who have done exceptionally well in job creation for the youths” He went further to say that this category was contributing to the job creation promise the Presidency made to the people of Nigeria.
Other awardees included 22 other individuals and seven corporate organisations.
