Alpha Condé receives Tony Elumelu

On Wednesday 8 January 2020, Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman Heirs Holdings and Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation paid a courtesy visit to his Excellency Professor Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea.

Mr Elumelu discussed spreading Transcorp Nigeria Power investments across Africa, stating he was willing to step up his investments in the country with the aim of forming a coalition of self-sufficient, stable and prosperous African countries.

Upon arrival, he was received by a delegation of government officials but also by the young recipients of Tony Elumelu Foundation funding, all years combined.

His Excellency Professor Alpha Condé, welcomed the Nigerian billionaire, philanthropist, declaring that entrepreneurship will promote sustainable development in Guinea but also throughout Africa.

President Condé praised Mr. Elumelu’s long-term commitment to the private sector and to entrepreneurs across the continent. He reiterated his support for the African private sector as a solution to achieve sustainable development on the continent and encouraged Mr. Elumelu to invest in the Guinean mining sector.

Mr Elumelu took the opportunity to remind that the candidacies for the account of the year 2020 to obtain funding for its foundation had been open since January 1 and that all people with a promising project do not hesitate to try their luck.
