Heirs Holdings Investee Company, Transcorp Hotels Plc, Launches Digital Platform Enabling Guests to Book Accommodation and Experiences

Transcorp Hotels, Africa’s leading hospitality company, has launched Aura, an online platform to help travellers easily book accommodation and experiences.

The launch of Aura offers travellers an alternative approach to tourism and business travel. With a growing portfolio of 185 homes (444 rooms) and a people-driven model, Aura sets to transform the hospitality industry on the continent by providing unique local experiences personalised to suit a diverse clientele base.

Aura, a subsidiary of Transcorp, an investee company of Heirs Holdings, will focus on three essential components of travel, whether for leisure or business — where you stay, what you eat, and how you spend your time.

President and Group CEO of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) said the launch of Aura was strategic for Transcorp Hotels Plc, a subsidiary of Transcorp.

“The pandemic changed how people travel. People want to have control of their safety, and with the reduction in international travel, people are exploring local destinations and experiences closer to home. Even as more people have access to the COVID-19 vaccines, we still predict that these trends will stay which is why Aura is so crucial, it helps us give travellers accommodation and experiences as well as options that meet the demands of the new normal.”

“It’s a new dawn in the African hospitality industry. I am thrilled to introduce you to Aura by Transcorp, the digital platform we are using to connect people to quality accommodation, great food, and awesome experiences,” Managing Director and CEO, Transcorp Hotels Plc, Dupe Olusola said.

“For over a decade, Transcorp Hotels has been at the forefront of creating a superior guest experience at our locations. Today, our commitment to innovation has offered us an opportunity to extend this beyond the hotel premises,” Olusola added.

Also speaking on the launch of Aura, Obong Idiong, CEO, Africa Prudential Plc, an investee company of Heirs Holdings and Aura’s technology partners, expressed his excitement. “Finding the right accommodation when you travel can be incredibly complex. Options available for the right prices are often limited, and travelers then end up with accommodations that taint their travel experience. Transcorp Hotels Plc has been able to fix that with Aura, and we are proud to be associated with them.”

“To ensure the best user experience, we built an advanced search algorithm powered by artificial intelligence that allows Aura to match clients with the best location based on their preferences,” Idiong added.

With the launch of Aura by Transcorp, Heirs Holdings further cements its leadership in the hospitality industry and reinforces its commitment to improve lives and transform Africa through innovation and superior guest experiences.

Guests and hosts can sign up at aura.transcorphotels.com to start booking or hosting. The service is currently available in Nigeria only, but the company said plans are already in place to expand to major cities across Africa.
